Harrison throws five touchdown passes in Coconut Creek’s 56-0 win over Suncoast

COCONUT CREEK—Quarterback Jhakari Harrison threw five touchdown passes in the first half as the host Cougars dominated winless Suncoast, 56-0, Thursday night in a District 15-6A matchup.

Harrison, who completed nine of his 11 passes for 287 yards before the intermission, teamed up with junior Binjimen Victor for 72- and 35-yard touchdowns on Coconut Creek’s first two possessions. He then found Akai Rainford from 42 yards out for a 21-0 advantage after one quarter.

Coconut Creek (4-2, 2-1) iced the game with four more touchdowns in the second quarter. After Taiwain Watkins scored the first of his two rushing touchdowns on a 55-yard burst up the middle, and Destra Benoit added a one-yard plunge, Harrison put his arm on display once again with scoring strikes to Aquani Barnes (17 yards) and Korron Rozier (25 yards).

The Chargers (0-6, 0-2) reached the red zone only once, but the drive was ultimately stopped by the Cougars’ defense.
