Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland went on lockdown for two hours Friday after a food fight involving more than a dozen students spilled from the cafeteria to the courtyard, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office and school officials.
There were no arrests and no one was seriously injured, officials said. The lockdown was lifted shortly before dismissal at 2:40 p.m.
Deputies were summoned to the school, 5901 Pine Island Road, at 12:23 p.m. The fight started in the cafeteria, said school district spokeswoman Marsy Smith. Fifteen to 20 students were involved.
