Man arrested in robbery of Coral Springs bank

A Plantation man was arrested shortly after a bank robbery Friday at SunTrust Bank, 1890 N. University Drive in Coral Springs, the Federal Bureau of Investigation announced Saturday.

Timothy Jermaine Ward, 40, was arrested as he tried to flee from police, an FBI news release said. He is in federal custody and facing federal charges. He is expected to appear Monday in U.S. District Court in Fort Lauderdale.

Agencies involved in the tracking and arrest included the Coral Springs Police Department, the Violent Intervention Proactive Enforcement Response Unit of the Broward Sheriff’s Office, and the FBI, a news release said.

No further information was available Saturday afternoon.
