Mayersohn elected without opposition to Parkland commission

— A new politician will get a seat on Parkland’s commission in November after no one else qualified.

Robert Mayersohn, a sales representative for food manufacturers and chairman of the city’s education advisory board, was elected without opposition to the District 4 seat, which serves the eastern part of the city.

Qualifying ended at noon Thursday for the seat now held by Mark Weissman, who is leaving because of term limits.

Mayersohn and Roberta Weissman, Mark’s wife, qualified during the official period in June. Roberta Weissman later dropped out of the race, forcing the city to have a special qualifying period.
