Parkland to keep tax rate status quo

The City Commission unanimously voted Wednesday night to keep the tax rate at $4.01 per $1,000 of assessed value for next year.

But residents will still pay more because property values rose by more than 4 percent. The city will gain an extra $300,000 in its $24.9 million budget by keeping the tax rate the same.

The fire assessment fee, originally projected to be increased, will remain at $210. But the annual solid waste assessment will increase by $2.88 per home to $328.44.
