President reduces sentences of four Broward residents in prison for federal drug crimes

Four Broward residents serving federal prison sentences on drug convictions are among the 214 prisoners whose sentences were commuted Wednesday by President Barack Obama.

Wilson Henderson, of Hollywood, had been serving a life term in prison since 1992 for cocaine base possession with intent to distribute and use of a firearm during a drug trafficking crime. His sentence was commuted to expire on Dec. 1.

Martin Brandon Moore, of Fort Lauderdale, was sentenced to life in prison in 2007 for possession of more than 50 grams of a mixture containing cocaine base and more than 5 kilograms of a mixture containing cocaine. His sentence was shortened to a term of 15 years.

Samuel Reyes, of Coral Springs, was sentenced to more than 17 years in prison in 2003 for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine. His prison term was commuted to expire Dec. 1.
