Restaurant and lodging group helps high schoolers get to France

The Broward Chapter of the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association has donated $2,500 to students at J.P. Taravella High School toward an international culinary exchange program in France.

The students are part of the Florida ProStart program, which helps prepare high school students for careers in hospitality.

The Coral Springs students are expected to study at the Lycee hotelier Georges Freche, one of France’s top hospitality schools, during the trip Dec. 29 to Jan. 9.

The students’ fundraising goal for the trip is $25,000, and donations are still being collected.
