Coral Springs is collecting school supplies to help economically disadvantaged children in the community. The annual back-to-school supply drive will end on Aug. 13.
People in the community can donate items such as pens, pencils, crayons, double-pocket folders, composition books, backpacks, tissues, hand sanitizer, rulers, scissors, glue and loose leaf paper. Donations can be dropped off at Volunteer Services inside Mullins Park, 10000 Ben Geiger Drive; the Police Department Lobby, 2801 Coral Springs Drive; Coral Springs Gymnasium, 2501 Coral Springs Drive; and at City Hall, 9551 W. Sample Road. Cash donations are also accepted and will be used to buy supplies and uniforms.
This year, three Starbucks locations are partnering with the city, as well. They are located at The Walk, 2800 N. University Drive; Coral Landings, 6202 W. Sample Road; and 6051 Coral Ridge Drive.
“Through the help of city staff, volunteers and the community, we can give these children the supplies they need to be properly prepared for the school year,” said Volunteer Services Coordinator Kim Sanecki.
