One of the great things about Monday holidays is not only the long weekend, but the short work week that follows it. The weekend is upon us again, and there are lots of great events for families.
Families looking for free culture can start their weekends early with Free First Thursday Starry Nights at NSU Art Museum, One East Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale. With the heat this week, your best bet is the Superhero Splash Bash at Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach. The event is 6-10 p.m. Friday at 401 S. Powerline Road, Deerfield Beach. Saturday brings the Free Family Fest at the Adrienne Arsht Center. Seating is “first-come, first-admitted” for the Miami Music Project performance, which begins at 1:30 p.m. First-Access Passes are required and can be reserved by phone or online.
