Two Coral Springs apartment units go up in smoke

Fire officials are investigating after two apartment units were engulfed by fire Monday.

Firefighters were called just before 1 p.m. as a cloud of smoke formed over the two-story apartment building at 10100 NW 35th St., just north of Sample Road in Coral Springs.

To extinguish the fire, firefighters were seen climbing their ladder, smashing windows and spraying water inside the units.

No one was injured in the fire, but the families living in each unit were displaced, said Coral Springs Fire Department Division Chief Mike Moser.

The American Red Cross is assisting the two families, Moser said.
